Role Overview
AV & Security Solutions Technician in the IT Solutions department, responsible for technical work at customer sites.
The role covers installation, configuration, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of IT, AV, and security products.
The technician follows OEM standards, SLA timelines, company procedures, and HSE requirements.
IT Infrastructure
- Install, configure, commission, and maintain computers, laptops, workstations, servers, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
- Configure user accounts, permissions, shared folders, printers, and network resources.
- Install and configure routers, switches, access points, and structured cabling.
- Perform hardware diagnostics, component replacement, operating system updates, firmware upgrades, and software patches.
Audio Visual Solutions
- Install, configure, and commission Interactive Flat Panels.
- Demonstrate installed systems and provide user orientation.
- Install and configure video conferencing equipment, cameras, microphones, speakers, touch panels, and presentation systems.
- Update AV software and firmware and troubleshoot display, connectivity, audio, and video issues.
Security Solutions
- Install and configure IP CCTV surveillance systems, NVRs, DVRs, cameras, storage devices, remote viewing, and mobile applications.
- Perform camera positioning, focus adjustment, and recording verification.
- Install and troubleshoot access control systems where applicable.
- Support endpoint protection, firewall deployment, antivirus, email security, and network security devices.
- Perform firmware upgrades and security updates for supported devices.
Field Service Operations
- Attend customer service requests within agreed SLA timelines and resolve hardware, software, and network incidents.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when required.
- Perform preventive maintenance visits and participate in installations, upgrades, migrations, and relocation projects.
- Read technical drawings, network layouts, and installation plans and ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Good knowledge of networking fundamentals.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, customer service, communication, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and commitment to continuous technical learning.
- A valid UAE driving licence is preferred.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft certifications, certified CCTV or security systems training, cybersecurity fundamentals, and OEM Interactive Flat Panel training are preferred.
