Job Summary
The Auto Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, refinishing, and restoring vehicle body surfaces to manufacturer quality standards.
The role requires expertise in color matching, paint application, surface preparation, and maintaining high standards of workmanship while ensuring safety and productivity targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, filling, and priming damaged areas.
- Mix and match paint colors according to manufacturer specifications.
- Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat using approved painting techniques and equipment.
- Perform spot repairs, panel painting, and full vehicle repainting as required.
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality, finish consistency, and defects.
- Polish, buff, and finish painted surfaces to achieve showroom quality results.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of spray guns, paint booths, and workshop equipment.
- Follow manufacturer repair procedures and workshop quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Complete assigned jobs within targeted repair times and productivity standards.
- Coordinate with body repair technicians and workshop supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Report any material, equipment, or quality concerns to management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School, Technical Certificate, or Vocational Training in Automotive Painting or related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as an Auto Painter, preferably in an automotive dealership or body shop.
- Strong knowledge of automotive paint systems, color mixing, and refinishing techniques.
- Experience with water-based and solvent-based paint products.
- Ability to use paint booths, spray guns, polishing tools, and related equipment.
- Good understanding of safety procedures related to paint and chemical handling.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Basic English communication skills.
- UAE driving license is an advantage.
