About the Role

- Implement a strategy for promoting Francophonie in the UAE
- Implement the plan for reintroducing French in Emirati public schools
- Support and coordinate the network of primary, secondary, and higher education institutions where French is taught
- Organize the annual training plan for FLE teachers
- Manage centrally DELF and DALF exams in the UAE
- Support French Alliances in organizing four annual DELF Junior sessions and promoting DELF Junior in secondary schools
- Organize cultural and educational events related to promoting Francophonie
- Promote French and French Alliance activities among partners, working with directors and course directors
- Set up short term FLE scholarships (students/trainers) in France
- Support and develop French departments or clubs in universities
Requirements
- Experience in initial and continuing teacher training
- Knowledge or mastery of a local language is an asset
- Knowledge of the region is an asset

Description synthétique du poste
- Under the joint authority of the Cooperation and Cultural Action Counselor (COCAC) and the Deputy COCAC, responsible for coordinating cooperation for French language teaching in the UAE and promoting Francophonie.
- As advisor and expert, responsible for cooperation with educational authorities to strengthen the place of French in private and public education as well as higher education.
Activités principales
- Mise en œuvre d’une stratégie de promotion de la francophonie aux Émirats Arabes Unis.
- Mise en œuvre du plan de réintroduction du français dans les écoles publiques émiriennes.
- Animation et soutien du réseau des établissements d'enseignement primaire, secondaire et supérieur, notamment ceux dans lesquels le français est enseigné.
- Organisation du plan de formation annuel des enseignants de FLE.
- Responsable de la gestion centrale pour les examens du DELF et du DALF aux Émirats Arabes Unis.
- Soutien aux Alliances Françaises dans l’organisation des 4 sessions annuelles de DELF Junior et dans leur action de promotion du DELF Junior auprès des établissements secondaires.
- Organisation d'événements culturels et pédagogiques liés à la promotion de la Francophonie.
- Promotion du français et des activités des Alliances Françaises auprès des partenaires, travail en collaboration avec les directeurs et les directeurs de cours.
- Mise en place de bourses FLE de courte durée (étudiants/formateurs) en France.
- Appui et développement des départements ou clubs de français dans les Universités.
Diplômes ou expérience professionnelle recommandée
- Expérience dans le domaine de la formation initiale et continue d’enseignants.
- La connaissance ou la maitrise d'une langue locale constituerait un atout, la connaissance de la région également.
