About the Role

Qatar Airways is hiring an Associate Legal Specialist for its Group Legal team in Doha.

The role supports technology, digital, and commercial contracting across the Qatar Airways Group.

The position works with Procurement, Cyber Security, Data Protection, IT, Digital teams, external parties, and Legal Specialists.

Contracting and Legal Support

  • Support contract evaluations, cost and price analysis, source selection, and contract preparation.
  • Review, analyze, negotiate, and draft technology and digital contracts.
  • Support software license, SaaS, cloud, implementation, professional services, maintenance, support, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Coordinate contracting plans, lead times, specifications, and requirements with internal stakeholders.
  • Explain contractual requirements and interpretations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review proposals for commercial feasibility, technical suitability, cost effectiveness, security, privacy, and operational fit.
  • Address intellectual property, data protection, information security, and technology-specific commercial considerations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks involving cyber security, personal data, AI usage, intellectual property, service continuity, and supplier performance.
  • Maintain accurate contract administration documentation.
  • Support tenders, RFPs, RFQs, supplier deviations, and technology procurement templates.

Governance and Process Improvement

  • Contribute to contracting policies, procedures, templates, and guidance for technology procurement and digital transformation.
  • Support automated systems and internal processes that improve contracting efficiency and monitor outcomes.
  • Help ensure contracting activities comply with statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
  • Read, interpret, and apply relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and contractual terms.
  • Work collaboratively to address functional gaps and minimize duplication.
  • Handle information according to data protection, confidentiality, and information security requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in contracts or the legal field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, planning, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and engage professionally, sensitively, and tactfully.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to support business decisions using relevant information.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate information against defined standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic capability is advantageous.
