Job Overview
Use existing electrical procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
Receive instruction, guidance, and direction from team members while applying conceptual electrical engineering knowledge.
Work under close supervision and mentoring from an experienced engineer.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Follow company procedures, work instructions, guidelines, and standards, seeking guidance when required.
- Perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic engineering tasks.
- Prepare design calculations, analyses, reports, and procedures.
- Organize work to meet deadlines, communicate information, ask questions, and confirm understanding.
- Develop understanding of project scope, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements.
- Perform power distribution calculations and produce consumer lists from equipment data.
- Size electrical equipment and components.
- Populate electrical databases such as SPEL.
- Prepare electrical one-line diagrams and detailed design sketches.
- Requisition and specify simple bulk materials, including TBE and SDR.
- Check drawings and keep the Lead Engineer informed of activities, progress, and concerns.
- Develop awareness of costs, the company's business, engineering and fabrication interactions, and productivity tools.
