About the Role
CIBC is seeking an Associate for Business Management in Global Markets to support Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) and Global Markets Financing (GMF) businesses. You will contribute to strategy execution, financial management, governance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to execution of strategic and business management priorities across GMF & FRM and FICC
- Assist in business initiatives, maintain project plans, and support Change Initiative Risk Assessments
- Prepare leadership presentations and respond to ad hoc business requests
- Support coordination of governance, risk, and control activities
- Assist with expense tracking, invoice allocations, and management reporting
- Build strong working relationships across GMF & FRM, FICC, and Capital Markets CAO team
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in capital markets or a corporate development function
- Undergraduate degree; MBA/CFA/CA is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills

What you’ll be doing
- The Capital Markets arm of CIBC serves corporate, government, and institutional clients with innovative solutions and value added services.
- As the Associate, Business Management, Global Markets, you’ll support day to day business activities in Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC), Global Markets Financing (GMF) and Financial Resource Management (FRM) businesses.
- This role is ideal for a dynamic professional with Capital Markets experience who thrives in a fast paced, cross functional environment.
How you’ll succeed
- Business Strategy & Execution: Contribute to strategic and business management priorities, assist in business initiatives, maintain project plans, and support Change Initiative Risk Assessments.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance: Support coordination of governance, risk, and control activities, assist with governance inventories, user access reviews, contract management, and audits.
- Financial Management & Business Performance: Support expense tracking, invoice allocations, management reporting, and prepare financial presentations.
- Stakeholder & Business Support: Build strong working relationships, facilitate communication, organize meetings, track actions and deliverables.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate experience and knowledge of Capital Markets with a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
- You have an undergraduate degree; MBA/CFA/CA is an asset.
- You give meaning to data and enjoy investigating complex problems.
- You’re digitally savvy and proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- You’re goal oriented and able to manage deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Your influence makes a difference through relationships and networks.
- You act like an owner and are a self starter.
