Role Overview

The role is part of PwC India’s Financial Crime Compliance practice within Fraud, Investigations and Regulatory Enforcement services.

The KYC Associate will conduct due diligence, investigate client risks, and support compliance controls.

Practice Context

The broader practice helps clients identify vulnerabilities, manage business threats, and investigate fraud, irregularities, regulatory violations, and financial reporting issues.

The source identifies the line of service as Advisory, the industry sector as FS X-Sector, and the specialism as Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client due diligence for banks, trusts, funds, SPVs, and other entity types.
  • Check client documents and data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Research and verify client information using databases and other sources.
  • Assess client risk using business activities, geographic location, and other factors.
  • Conduct sanctions and adverse media screening and analyze screening results.
  • Maintain KYC profiles and ongoing-monitoring records.
  • Conduct periodic and event-driven reviews of client accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on KYC issues and regulatory requirements.
  • Improve KYC processes and strengthen compliance controls.
  • Stay updated on KYC, AML, and CFT regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of KYC, AML compliance, or related banking experience.
  • Strong understanding of BSA, AML, KYC, and related financial regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial products, services, and industry regulations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, time-management, communication, and risk-identification abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with KYC tools, databases, and software for due diligence and risk assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CAMS or CFE certification is preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale banking or financial institutions is preferred.
  • Familiarity with jurisdiction-specific regulatory requirements is preferred.
