Abu Dhabi University is seeking a faculty member at Assistant Professor level in Public or Private Law for its College of Law.

Associate Professor consideration may be given in special cases.

The College of Law offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral law programmes, including programmes in public law, private law, cyber law, and artificial intelligence.

Assistant Professor criteria

  • A doctoral or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution is required.
  • At least three years of full-time teaching and research experience with key research publications is required for Assistant Professor consideration.
  • Candidates must demonstrate significant scholarly accomplishments appropriate to their discipline.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent teaching ability and active engagement with students in and outside the classroom.
  • Applicants should be able to teach in English and Arabic, although applicants with English only are also encouraged to apply.

Special skills and abilities

  • Communication, teaching, presentation, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to complete one under the UK HEA Fellowship Scheme.
  • Demonstrated commitment to publishing in Scopus-indexed publications.
  • Clear, evidence-based engagement with research networks.
  • Experience developing student activities and events.
  • Demonstration of being a good university citizen.

Associate Professor consideration

  • Associate Professor consideration requires at least eight years of full-time teaching and research experience with key research publications.
  • Applicants for Associate Professor should provide their top 10 Scopus publications with a five-line contribution explanation for each paper.

Academic responsibilities

  • Teach law courses and engage actively with students in and outside the classroom.
  • Conduct scholarly research and prepare a two-page proposal describing research planned for the next 2 to 4 years.
  • Publish research and maintain an active scholarly profile.
  • Develop student activities and events and contribute to university service.

  • Submit one English application document containing a cover letter and curriculum vitae with education, teaching, research, and publication details.
  • Include direct links to Google Scholar, ORCID, and Scopus profiles in the curriculum vitae.
  • An online video interview is required.
  • The application deadline is 30 August 2026, with interviews planned for September.
