Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing pizza dough, sauces, and toppings according to recipes and standards
- Prepare and portion ingredients before service
- Assemble pizzas accurately and efficiently
- Operate pizza ovens and monitor cooking times under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations at all times
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisor
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory using FIFO procedures
- Support kitchen team during busy service periods
- Help minimize food waste and maintain cost control standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in a pizza restaurant, bakery, or kitchen environment preferred
- Basic knowledge of pizza preparation and cooking techniques
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- English language proficiency
- 1 year of experience as assistant pizza chef preferred

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Help minimize food waste and maintain cost control standards.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a pizza restaurant, bakery, or kitchen environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of pizza preparation and cooking techniques.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift kitchen supplies when required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food handling or food safety certification.
- Experience with wood fired, gas, or electric pizza ovens.
- Knowledge of dough fermentation and pizza making techniques.
