Overview

MashreqBank seeks an Assistant Manager, Derivative Operations to manage derivative trade validation, oversee settlements, and ensure compliance with Islamic product guidelines. The role requires expertise in core derivative instruments and various asset classes, and a minimum of 5 years of experienc

Responsibilities

  • Manage and validate derivative trades for OTC derivative products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee the settlement process for derivative products, monitoring and managing trade lifecycles.
  • Create and review derivative confirmation documents and SWIFT messages, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with Islamic product workflow and documentation guidelines.
  • Handle F&O (Futures & Options) clearing activities, including trade execution and settlement.
  • Manage OTC derivative clearing-related activities, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and analyze market data and trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for the bank's derivative portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Treasury Operations team to develop and implement efficient processes for derivative operations.
  • Provide support and guidance to the team, ensuring a high level of performance and adherence to best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in derivative operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of core derivative instruments and various asset classes.
  • Experience in trade validation, settlement, and confirmation processes for derivative products.
  • Familiarity with Islamic finance principles and the ability to apply them to derivative operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and systems, including trade validation and settlement platforms.
