Assistant General Counsel
supporting the
Skycargo
portfolio, which includes our recently launched Emirates Courier Express business, and provide strategic legal guidance that supports the seamless operation of our global business.

We are seeking a credible and experienced legal expert with an excellent understanding of complex and asset intensive international businesses and the key role our in-house legal team will play in the successful delivery of our growth plans.
If you are a qualified lawyer with excellent training and academic credentials, strong English language skills for communication and drafting and experience with a leading regional or international law firm or in-house department of a major international corporation; we are interested to hear from you.
Previous experience working in the air cargo, courier and logistics industry is an advantage, but not essential.
The selected candidate will support our award-winning Emirates Sky Cargo division, which operates a dedicated fleet of 13 Boeing 777F freighters (with more on order) as well as utilizing Emirates’ passenger aircraft to over 135 destinations worldwide.
Reporting to the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel within the legal team, this role will act as the strategic legal partner to Emirates SkyCargo, providing practical and effective advice to the business on a broad range of legal matters (including commercial contracts, M&A, regulatory matters and litigation).
In This Role You Will
- Have the opportunity to work on high quality, complex cross-border commercial transactions and regulatory matters with a high degree of autonomy.
- Advise and assist our industry leading clients with commercial contract involving drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalising agreements across the entire Emirates SkyCargo business.
- Provide general legal advice on day-to-day matters and support our leadership and compliance teams in respect of a range of disputes and regulatory investigations.
- Become an integral part of the global legal team supporting the world’s largest international airline and one of the world’s most dynamic aviation groups.
Qualification
- To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Law degree from a recognised university or a degree which qualifies towards professional qualification as a lawyer, the degree to include a course in Law of Contract (common law)
- Be a qualified lawyer with current practising certification.
- Have a minimum 3 years post qualification experience in an area of law relevant to the position.
You'Ll Have An Edge If You Have
- Previous experience working in the air cargo, courier and logistics industry.
- Excellent analytical ability and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent drafting skills in English documentation.
- The ability to be service-oriented, commercially aware and capable of working on a diverse range of client matters whilst maintaining a continuing grasp of the Group’s long term commercial goals and the importance of achieving the same.
