An Assistant Financial Controller
to support financial reporting, P&L analysis, and accounting operations in a fast-paced trading environment.
The role involves managing month-end close, ensuring accurate financial control over transactions, and enhancing reporting through systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in accounting/finance roles
- Strong experience in P&L analysis, accruals, and financial reporting
- Experience with commodity trading, shipping, or logistics companies is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in Power BI and advanced Excel
- Good understanding of IFRS, internal controls, and audit processes
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
P&L & Performance Analysis
- Review monthly P&L and identify key drivers of variances (price, volume, freight, storage, FX)
- Support management with performance insights and margin analysis
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards (Power BI)
Commodity Contract & Financial Control
- Monitor financial impact of commodity contracts and ensure accurate accounting treatment
- Align accounting entries with trading activities (purchases, sales, shipments)
- Support reconciliation between physical and financial positions
Daily And Month-End Closing & Accounting
- Post and review accruals, provisions, and journal entries
- Process and validate invoices (AP/AR)
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures
- Maintain strong audit trail and support internal/external audits
- Improve processes and strengthen financial controls
Systems & Reporting
- Work with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for financial operations
- Develop and enhance reporting using Power BI
- Support automation and AI-driven improvements in reporting and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in agri-commodity or trading environments
- Exposure to contract accounting and cost allocation (freight, storage, etc.)
- Familiarity with automation tools or AI-driven reporting
