Summary
- Assists in providing medical care in Critical Care and supervises interns and residents.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Assists the Consultant in providing required patient care and management in Critical Care.
- Provides high quality patient care in all aspects of Critical Care according to approved clinical privileges.
- Provides consultation (inpatient, and emergency room) upon request.
- Responsible for timely completion, competencies, accuracy and legibility of the medical record.
- Provides on call service and ensures availability and response time.
- Conducts daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge.
- Performs other clinical responsibilities as assigned.
- Provides orientation, bedside training and supervision to interns, residents and fellows.
- Participates in department's educational activities and training programs.
- Maintains and enhances professional knowledge and continuing education requirements.
Education
- Graduation from a medical school in good standing.
- Completion of required period of postgraduate training in a specialty and/or subspecialty.
- Saudi/American Board or Canadian/UK certification, or equivalent as outlined by the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.
Experience Required
- Two (2) years of training in specialty and subspecialty plus post training experience required.
