About the Role

Responsibilities
- Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure all asset records are accurate and up to date
- Record asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, retirements, and write offs
- Calculate and post monthly depreciation in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards
- Reconcile fixed asset accounts with the general ledger on a monthly basis
- Capitalize projects and ensure proper classification of capital expenditures (CAPEX)
- Review invoices and supporting documentation to determine appropriate capitalization
- Conduct periodic physical verification of fixed assets and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare fixed asset schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and internal control procedures
- Monitor construction in progress (CIP) accounts and facilitate timely capitalization
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage
- 2–3 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or general accounting
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics (1C experience is preferrable)
- Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting, depreciation methods, and CAPEX accounting
- Good understanding of IFRS or GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Asset Accountant
