Description
Responsible for ensuring the safety of the airport environment through effective response to aircraft emergencies, firefighting, rescue operations, and hazardous material incidents.
The candidate will possess a strong sense of duty, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in challenging situations.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- International Fire Service Accreditation Congress certification (IFSAC), DoD and/or ProBoard.
- Firefighter I and II
- ARFF Firefighter
- Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations
• Apparatus Driver Operator MWS
- Public Telecommunicator I and II
- ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800
- CPR/AED
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) issued by a State Agency, or the National Registry
Skills
- Minimum of 3 years firefighting experience in a civilian or military firefighting role.
- Considerable knowledge of egress and safety procedures of various military and civilian rotary wing aircraft, and structural fire/alarm detection / suppression systems. Expert knowledge of aircraft rescue and firefighting techniques, practices, and equipment, as well as first aid and CPR.
