Role Purpose
Define, govern, and evolve enterprise application architecture so applications, integrations, data exchanges, and technology choices support business capabilities and digital strategy.
Provide architecture direction for application modernization, solution design, and portfolio rationalization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the application portfolio, architecture views, reference architectures, and lifecycle roadmaps.
- Assess application fit, health, technical debt, duplication, integration dependencies, and alignment to business capabilities.
- Define target-state application architecture, rationalization recommendations, and transition roadmaps.
- Review solution designs, architecture documents, and non-functional requirements for compliance with enterprise architecture principles.
- Coordinate with solution, data, infrastructure, security, and integration teams on coherent end-to-end designs.
- Establish traceability across business capabilities, processes, applications, data entities, interfaces, and technology components.
- Support modernization, cloud adoption, package selection, and migration initiatives with architecture guidance.
- Contribute to governance, design reviews, exception management, standards, and enterprise architecture repository quality.
Experience and Education
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in application architecture, solution architecture, systems analysis and design, application portfolio management, or a closely related role.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related discipline.
Certification and Technical Background
- TOGAF certification is required or strongly preferred according to the source description.
- ArchiMate, cloud architecture, integration, ITIL, or relevant platform certifications are advantageous.
- Experience with enterprise applications, APIs and integrations, application lifecycle management, and modernization is required.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of application architecture patterns, API-led integration, service-oriented design, and application lifecycle management.
- Practical knowledge of TOGAF and ArchiMate application-layer modeling and the ability to create actionable architecture views.
- Experience assessing application portfolios, technical debt, application health, fit-for-purpose, and rationalization opportunities.
- Familiarity with cloud, security, data, and integration considerations in enterprise solution design.
- Strong stakeholder-management, analytical, documentation, and design-review skills.
