Overview Of The Role
- The role of the Agricultural Engineer is to ensure a clean, organized, and visually appealing store that provides customers with a comprehensive shopping experience.
- The position involves driving sales by using effective selling techniques and extensive product knowledge, specifically in the garden products sector.
What You Will Do
- Provide a high level of customer service at all times both internally and externally
- Assist and advise customers on product selections to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales
- Operate the point of sales system as required, maintaining high accuracy in transactions and cash handling procedures
- Actively learn and understand the product range, advising customers on suitable products
- Utilize horticultural expertise to maintain the Garden section and educate customers and team members
- Assist with receiving deliveries and displaying goods per approved procedures
- Ensure compliance with in store pricing and ticketing procedures
- Apply merchandising principles to maintain a corporate image and ensure the store is well presented
- Initiate and oversee cleaning programs for assigned departments
- Assist with other tasks as needed, including stock takes, new store openings, product launches, and seasonal promotions
Required Skills To Be Successful
- Excellent customer service orientation
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
- Proficiency in operating a point of sale system
What Qualifies You For The Role
- Degree in Agricultural Engineering or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in a retail environment
- Agricultural Engineer Certificate is required
- Strong communication and good customer service skills
