Responsibilities
- Support preparation, setup, and execution of additive manufacturing builds in accordance with approved work instructions and SOPs
- Assist with build plate preparation, material loading, machine line out, routine machine checks, and post build shutdown activities
- Help maintain build records, e logs, material traceability, and basic production documentation
- Support routine checks of utilities, consumables, powders, gases, filters, and optics related items to ensure machine readiness
- Perform assigned daily and weekly QA or calibration related checks and escalate deviations
- Support first line troubleshooting and help capture downtime or machine issues
- Assist with FAT/SAT punch list activities, contractor visits, and service engineer support
- Follow all EHS requirements related to metal powders, inert gases, machine operation, radiation controlled areas, and general laboratory safety
Requirements
- BEng/BSc in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 1–3 years of relevant industrial experience in additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, production engineering, or related field
- Basic understanding of metal additive manufacturing processes, including LPBF
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and basic documentation practices
- Basic CAD proficiency

Role Summary
- You will support the day to day operation of metal additive manufacturing machines and associated laboratory activities within the Additive Manufacturing and Materials facility.
- Working under the guidance of more senior engineers, you will help prepare and run builds safely and efficiently, maintain traceability, support equipment readiness, complete routine QA and calibration checks, and contribute to safe, stable, and disciplined facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support preparation, setup, and execution of additive manufacturing builds in accordance with approved work instructions and SOPs, liaising with the responsible technicians.
- Assist with build plate preparation, material loading, machine line out, routine machine checks, and post build shutdown activities.
- Help maintain build records, e logs, material traceability, and basic production documentation.
- Support routine checks of utilities, consumables, powders, gases, filters, and optics related items to ensure machine readiness.
- Perform assigned daily and weekly QA or calibration related checks and escalate deviations to senior engineers or QA personnel.
- Support first line troubleshooting and help capture downtime or machine issues for review through the relevant maintenance or tracking system.
- Assist with FAT/SAT punch list activities, contractor visits, and service engineer support, where required.
- Follow all EHS requirements related to metal powders, inert gases, machine operation, radiation controlled areas, and general laboratory safety.
- Work closely with technicians, operations engineers, materials engineers, and QA personnel to support smooth execution of planned activities.
Mandatory Qualifications
- BEng/BSc in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of relevant industrial experience in additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, production engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of metal additive manufacturing processes, including LPBF.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and basic documentation practices.
- Awareness of quality and laboratory discipline, with willingness to work within controlled procedures and traceability requirements.
- Basic CAD proficiency.
Desired Skills
- Exposure to metal AM equipment, ideally LPBF, and awareness of EBM or DED/WAAM as a plus.
- Familiarity with shop floor data capture, route cards, or electronic build records.
- Awareness of ISO 9001 / AS9100 working environments.
- Exposure to Lean, 5S, TPM, or OEE concepts.
- Comfortable using Excel or similar tools for basic data tracking and reporting.
- Strong willingness to learn in a hands on manufacturing environment.
