Job Purpose
The AR Senior Officer manages customer accounts, issues accurate invoices, and ensures timely payment collection.
The role includes customer follow-up, account reconciliation, payment discrepancy resolution, and month-end receivables support.
Invoicing
- Generate and issue accurate customer invoices with required documentation and approvals.
- Ensure billing complies with contract terms, pricing agreements, and tax regulations.
- Process adjustments, credit notes, revised invoices, and invoice receipt tracking.
Collections and Reconciliation
- Follow up on outstanding payments and escalate overdue accounts when necessary.
- Apply incoming payments to the correct invoices and customer accounts.
- Assist with cash flow reports and VAT returns.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing concerns or discrepancies.
Closing and Reporting
- Perform month-end accounts receivable closing activities.
- Prepare aging reports and identify high-risk accounts.
- Provide management updates on collections, overdue accounts, write-offs, and expected credit losses.
- Support internal controls, accounting policies, and financial audits.
Other Duties
- Carry out additional finance and accounts receivable responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accountancy, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related financial role.
Required Competencies
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
- Experience with ERP systems and online financial platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities accurately and on time.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently.
- Initiative, proactive problem-solving, and commitment to continuous learning.
