The Accountant will manage core accounting functions and support financial reporting in a dynamic business environment.
The role is based in Abu Dhabi and is described as onsite, with close collaboration among colleagues to maintain accurate financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries into the general ledger.
- Process customer invoices and supplier payments accurately and on time.
- Assist with month-end closing and prepare relevant accounting schedules.
- Maintain accurate records and financial documentation for assigned entities or companies.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation as directed.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Must-Have Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Have at least three years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience in core accounting functions.
- Currently reside in the UAE.
- Have experience with payables, receivables, reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger, invoicing, payments, and month-end closing.
- Be proficient with accounting software or ERP systems and identify the systems used.
- Have strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and PivotTables.
- Have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Immediate availability or a very short notice period is advantageous.
- Prior accounting experience within the UAE is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations is advantageous.
- External audit support and detailed audit schedule experience are advantageous.
- Experience managing accounts for multiple entities or companies is advantageous.
