Accountant

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting operations and maintain the general ledger.
• Process sales, purchase, expense, receipt, payment, and journal transactions.
• Manage customer and vendor accounts, supplier invoices, customer invoicing, and collections.
• Reconcile bank, customer, supplier, and balance sheet accounts and resolve differences.
• Maintain account schedules, supporting documentation, and organized financial records.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, financial summaries, and cash-flow information.
• Support monthly and annual closing procedures.
• Prepare VAT workings, tax-related schedules, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with external auditors and accountants.
• Maintain internal financial controls and improve accounting procedures where required.
• Monitor budgets and compare actual expenses with approved budgets.
• Provide financial information and analysis to management while protecting confidential data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Two to four years of practical accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, general accounting, and financial reporting.
• Practical understanding of AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or ERP platforms.
• Working knowledge of UAE VAT and relevant financial compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies.
• Strong numerical ability, accuracy, attention to detail, organization, communication, and deadline management.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• High integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior UAE accounting experience is an advantage.
• Experience with cloud-based ERP or accounting systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT compliance and tax documentation is preferred.
• Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation is preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting controls and financial reporting processes is preferred.
• ACCA, CMA, CA, or another recognized professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
• Experience in automotive, SaaS, technology, leasing, rental, or service-based businesses is preferred.

• Work mode is on-site.
