Project Accounting Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting for construction and contracting projects.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, revenues, profitability, commitments, accruals, and provisions.
- Prepare project invoices, payment applications, and supporting documentation.
- Track receivables and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
- Process supplier and subcontractor invoices and review payment certificates, variations, and retention amounts.
- Prepare monthly project financial reports and management accounts.
- Analyze project performance and identify cost overruns or variances.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and project cash-flow planning.
- Reconcile bank, project, and general ledger accounts.
- Apply appropriate accounting treatment to contract revenue, costs, variations, and retention.
- Coordinate with project, commercial, procurement, and quantity surveying teams.
