Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on programs, courses, study pathways, academic requirements, policies, deadlines, and resources.
• Create academic plans and progression strategies based on student goals, interests, and progress.
• Monitor performance, engagement, and academic challenges, and identify students needing additional support.
• Conduct virtual advising sessions, consultations, and follow-up meetings.
• Maintain accurate student records, advising notes, and progress updates.
• Collaborate with instructors, admissions, student services, and academic teams.
• Contribute ideas that improve student engagement, retention, and advising services.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of academic planning, student progression, and educational pathways.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active-listening skills.
• Ability to explain complex academic information clearly and professionally.
• Strong organization, record-keeping, deadline management, and prioritization skills.
• Empathetic, student-centered approach with sound professional judgment.
• Familiarity with online learning environments and digital education platforms.
• Ability to work independently and maintain student engagement remotely.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is preferred.
• Three or more years of relevant advising, student services, education, or counseling experience is preferred.
