AC & Refrigeration Technician

Role Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Prioritize multiple maintenance requests, breakdowns, and operational requirements.
• Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems according to specifications and regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and service life.
• Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, and refrigerant recovery in line with UAE environmental requirements.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and service calls to reduce downtime and operational disruption.
• Monitor equipment, carry out daily inspections, and report abnormalities or potential issues.
• Document service work, repairs, preventive maintenance, readings, and other maintenance activities.
• Maintain safe work practices, complete shift duties, coordinate with other departments, and provide handovers.
• Maintain housekeeping and tool storage in workshops, plant rooms, and work areas.
• Support other engineering disciplines and keep current with HVAC and refrigeration developments.

Qualifications and Requirements

• ITI training of two years in HVAC and refrigeration or a three-year diploma in HVAC and refrigeration is required.
• Proficiency with manifold gauges, multimeters, and refrigerant recovery equipment.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and system documentation.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple job sites.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of UAE HVAC regulations, commercial refrigeration experience, and additional trade certifications are preferred.
