Workshop Supervisor

Reporting into the Branch Manager – Bunbury, the Workshop Supervisor is responsible for leading their department by providing guidance to their team members to ensure safety, quality and efficiency are of the highest standard resulting in exceptional customer satisfaction. The role is accountable for ensuring effective work order management and department performance to achieve WesTrac’s targets of productivity and compliance to Caterpillar, customer and WesTrac requirements.
Roster : Monday – Friday 10 hours per day (excluding unpaid meal break)

What you’ll do
Supervise a team of 11 personnel including apprentices, ensuring a high-quality of workmanship is completed to support the Rebuilds department.
Manage work order scheduling, execution, and compliance with WesTrac and Caterpillar standards
Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback, and implementing necessary interventions for improvement
Uphold adherence to company protocols, standards, and safety protocols
Oversee day-to-day activities, inventory oversight, and maintaining superior customer service standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise processes
Cultivate a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes collaboration and personal growth
Skills and Experience
- Qualified mechanical trade background
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leading hand role within a heavy industrial or maintenance environment
- Caterpillar Systems, Parts and Product knowledge
- Experience managing work orders, job scheduling, and tracking associated costs
- Ability to provide technical guidance and oversight without being on the tools
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
