Welder / Fabricator

We are looking for a: Welder / Fabricator at our Gillingham, Kent site (39 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 8am to 430pm/Friday 8am to 330pm) Whose main responsibilities are:

• Manual welding and fabrication of components to customer specification.
• To be able to read and understand drawings that will include British / International standards and welding symbols.
• Having a good understanding of fixtures, jigs and clamps when required.
• Being able to produce ‘First Offs’ to specifications.
• Self-Inspection and to include the use of measuring equipment such as Vernier’s, Micrometres and Height Gauges.
• Working within weld specifications / procedures to minimise the risk of defective / reject parts. Ideally the candidate must have:
• An Understanding of Welding Symbols and British / International standards.
• Qualification to BS EN ISO 9606-1
• Previous experience within a Precision Manufacturing environment.
• Worked with thicknesses from 1mm to 6mm.
• Knowledge and previous experience with carbon and stainless steels, in a welding environment.
• Demonstrable MAG / TIG Welding experience. Preferably the candidate will have:
• Knowledge and previous experience with aluminium, in a welding environment.
