Role Overview
Provide technical leadership in the design, development, optimization, and operation of water and wastewater treatment systems.
Deliver water and wastewater treatment projects safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, operation, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Develop and evaluate treatment technologies, process models, simulations, and sensitivity analyses.
- Conduct process audits and assessments to identify improvements and optimization opportunities.
- Prepare P&IDs, BFDs, mass balances, process calculations, design reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Size process equipment, pumping and lifting stations, tanks, dry wells, and wet wells.
- Prepare BOQs and support engineering cost estimates.
- Develop operation and maintenance manuals, including SOPs.
- Troubleshoot treatment plant process and operational issues.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Support delivery against technical, schedule, quality, and budget requirements.
- Stay current with water and wastewater treatment technologies and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Seven to twelve years of relevant water and wastewater treatment process engineering experience.
- At least seven years of experience in Saudi Arabia.
- Strong experience in treatment system design, analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with process calculations, mass balances, equipment sizing, process modeling, and plant design.
- Experience preparing P&IDs, BFDs, reports, specifications, BOQs, and O&M documentation.
- Experience on water and wastewater treatment projects in an engineering, construction, EPC, or related environment.
- Strong knowledge of treatment processes, environmental requirements, and applicable engineering standards.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and interacting with project stakeholders.
- Saudi Council of Engineers certification is required.
- Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
