Role overview
Lead and develop warehouse operatives and trainee supervisors across a shift.
Work with the Section Manager and Warehouse Leadership team to deliver operational targets, workforce planning and customer demand.
Champion safety, continuous improvement and cultural change to improve retention and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Directly manage and coach Warehouse Operatives and Trainee Supervisors, including performance one-to-ones and SMART goals.
- Monitor delivery to plan and identify improvement areas with the Section Manager.
- Drive key metrics so customer web and store demand is fulfilled on time and in full.
- Ensure adherence to safety routines including inspections, hazard spotting, safety gembas, risk assessments and audits.
- Review weekly labour plans, confirm shift cover and raise issues or feedback.
- Explain missed targets and create plans to bridge performance gaps.
- Partner with stakeholders to support strategic activity.
- Support culture change and turnover reduction initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience in warehousing, logistics or supply chain.
- High potential for people and change management.
- Good systems skills.
- Customer-focused approach to operational management.
- Resilient, flexible and approachable approach.
- Problem-solving ability in a fast-paced business.
Schedule
- The role follows a rotating shift pattern of five days out of seven, including weekends.
