Job Summary

  • The Waiter cum Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, processing customer payments accurately, and maintaining cleanliness and operational standards within the restaurant.
  • The role requires professionalism, honesty, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service

  • Welcome and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Escort customers to their tables when required.
  • Present menus and explain menu items, promotions, and daily specials.
  • Take customer orders accurately and communicate them to the kitchen.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring presentation standards.
  • Respond to customer requests and resolve minor complaints professionally.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the dining experience.

Cashier Duties

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately.
  • Process cash, credit card, and digital payments.
  • Issue receipts and maintain accurate transaction records.
  • Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Report any cash shortages or discrepancies immediately.
  • Ensure all bills are accurately prepared and settled.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Prepare tables before service and clear tables after guests leave.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, cashier counter, and service stations.
  • Refill condiments, cutlery, napkins, and other service items.
  • Assist in opening and closing procedures.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and municipality (Baladiya) regulations.

Sales Responsibilities

  • Upsell menu items, beverages, desserts, and promotions.
  • Encourage customers to try new menu offerings.
  • Support the achievement of branch sales targets.

Inventory & Equipment

  • Handle restaurant equipment responsibly.
  • Report damaged equipment or maintenance issues immediately.
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels of service items.

Health & Safety

  • Maintain personal hygiene and wear a clean, complete uniform.
  • Follow all food safety and workplace safety procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the shift.

Teamwork

  • Work closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist colleagues during busy periods.
  • Attend training sessions and team meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Service is an advantage.
  • Basic mathematical and cash handling skills.
  • Knowledge of POS systems is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a waiter, cashier, or in a similar hospitality role.
  • Experience in a casual or fine dining restaurant is preferred.
