Role overview
Supports the Authority's VAT function under the Strategic Planning Section Head.
Provides technical and operational support across policy, processes, systems, compliance, risk, monitoring, and taxpayer support.
VAT policy support
- Translate VAT policy decisions into operational procedures, workflows, and guidance.
- Draft VAT manuals, private rulings or clarifications, FAQs, circulars, and public-facing guidance.
- Monitor international VAT and GST developments and propose procedural or content updates.
Implementation and operations
- Document VAT registration, filing, payments, refunds, and appeals processes with clear inputs, outputs, and controls.
- Coordinate validation of VAT rules, master data, and integrations with Information Systems and Digital Transformation.
- Execute testing scenarios, validate business rules, log defects, and follow through to resolution.
- Support VAT go-live activities and releases through readiness checklists and cutover tasks.
Compliance and risk management
- Support VAT compliance controls, including segregation, approvals, audit trails, and risk indicators.
