The Trade Operations Specialist is responsible for the execution and monitoring of the full trade
lifecycle for crude oil and refined petroleum products.
The role ensures seamless supply chain
logistics, cost efficiency, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Working closely with traders, shipping companies, suppliers, and customers, the Trade Operations Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of transactions.
The position involves trade reconciliation, documentation management, cargo and financial administration, as well as the proactive identification of operational risks and process improvements within a fast-paced and demanding trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee the full lifecycle of crude oil and petroleum products trading operations, including the negotiation, administration, and execution of international trade contracts and all related documentation.
- Conductbusiness negotiations and maintain professional correspondence with counterparties and stakeholders.
- Monitorand optimize supply chain logistics to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure accurate trade capture, reconciliation, reporting, and record maintenance.
- Coordinate with traders, shipping companies, suppliers, and customers to ensure the timely and efficient execution of transactions.
- Oversee the preparation and verification of all cargo and financial documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, customs declarations, letters of credit, insurance certificates, and other related documents.
- Monitormarket developments, operational risks, and potential bottlenecks that may impact trade execution.
- Maintain and develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, receivers, shipping and customs agents, and government authorities.
- Perform trade reconciliations between internal systems and external counterparties.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve operational discrepancies and risks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal company policies.
- Support the continuous improvement of trade operations processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Russian language- professional, English language, French language– professional (all mandatory).
- Strong understanding of trade operations and physical commodities trading.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to resolve issues efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, accountability, and accuracy in data processing.
- Soundknowledge of international trade regulations, foreign trade activities (Import/Export), logistics processes, and Incoterms
