Technician - Reliability, Condition Monitoring
is responsible for performing condition monitoring and predictive maintenance activities on all rotating equipment to ensure optimal plant operation.
This includes vibration analysis, lube oil sampling, thermographic inspections, and machinery performance monitoring using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
The role supports plant reliability and safety by identifying equipment faults early and recommending corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct vibration monitoring and analysis on rotating machinery (motors, gearboxes, pumps, turbines, compressors, fans).
- Collect and analyze lube oil samples and conduct thermographic surveys.
- Perform machinery alignment, balancing, and endoscope inspections as required.
- Use specialized diagnostic tools and software (e.g., Bently Nevada, CSI, SKF systems).
- Report abnormalities and provide recommendations for corrective action.
- Support HSE policies by ensuring safe work practices.
- Assist in troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of condition monitoring activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a condition monitoring technician, preferably in a steel plant environment.
- Proficiency with condition monitoring hardware and software tools.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office).
- Good understanding of Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) principles.
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).
