Technician (Nursing and Midwifery)

Completion of a relevant degree, or a combination of relevant experience and education/training may also be considered, with experience providing technical and practical support within a tertiary educational, clinical or similar environment. Experience supporting Nursing and Midwifery disciplines would be desirable;

Demonstrated experience providing practical and technical support in a teaching, workshop, clinical or similar environment, with the ability to prepare and facilitate high-quality practical and simulated learning experiences;

A demonstrated commitment to utilising simulation methodology in learning and its ability to transform education, with the ability and willingness to learn and support new technologies and techniques;

Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, including experience conducting and documenting risk assessments, implementing safe operating procedures, and working in accordance with relevant policies, guidelines and legislation;

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and adapt to changing requirements in a high-volume environment; and

Effective communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with academic, technical and professional staff and students, build positive working relationships, and provide accurate and timely advice.
