Role Overview
The Technical Standards Inspector ensures quality and technical compliance across base, line, and third-party aircraft maintenance.
The role reports to the Technical Compliance Manager within a technical compliance team reporting to the Chief Technical Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform independent quality inspection gates and vital point checks before aircraft sections or zones are closed.
- Develop and maintain the Technical Inspection Program and update CAME, MOE, and engineering SOPs.
- Ensure alignment with GCAA, EASA, FAA, CARC, GACA, and international aviation regulations.
- Monitor subcontracted maintenance and provide troubleshooting and licensed AOG coverage.
- Support audits and MEMS safety investigations and coach the engineering team.
Required Licenses and Experience
- Hold an ICAO Type 2 Engineering License with current fleet aircraft ratings.
- Hold a Category C license on company-operated helicopters.
- Have at least 20 years of aircraft engineering experience with progressive responsibilities.
- Have at least 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in helicopter engineering.
- Have experience liaising with GCAA and other regulatory authorities.
Technical Qualifications
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of applicable aviation regulations.
- Have experience authoring CAME, MOE, quality procedures, and engineering manuals.
- Demonstrate leadership, analytical troubleshooting, and decision-making under pressure.
- Have English proficiency at minimum ELP Level 5 and strong communication skills.
- Be proficient in MS Office and maintenance software such as RUSADA, AIMS, or AMOS.
- A valid GCAA or recognized international license is preferred.
