Role Overview

Technical Services Engineers advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems using technical expertise and customer service skills.

The role covers the MongoDB database server, drivers, cloud, infrastructure, Atlas, and Cloud Manager.

The position follows a hybrid working model for candidates based in Gurugram.

Core Responsibilities

  • Solve customer challenges involving architecture, performance, recovery, security, and other MongoDB ecosystem topics.
  • Provide best-practice guidance for operating MongoDB at scale.
  • Advocate for customer needs with product management and development teams.
  • Contribute to internal support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics.

Technical Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong systems administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with scalable and highly available distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of network administration, application architecture, and data architecture and design.
  • Understanding of database architecture and administration.
  • Experience with performance tuning and benchmarking.
  • Previous technical support experience.
  • B.Tech, B.S., or equivalent work experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong desire to help people and advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems in real time.
  • Ability to rapidly learn new technical skills and collaborate effectively with teammates.

Preferred Skills

  • Comfort with modern AI concepts and AI-assisted tools for troubleshooting and technical support workflows.
  • Knowledge of one or more of Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Node.js, Go, PHP, or Perl.

Success Measures

  • Within three months, complete new hire training and gain a deep understanding of MongoDB and its ecosystem.
  • Within six months, work comfortably with customers and complete the MongoDB Certified DBA Associate exam.
  • Within twelve months, develop technical expertise, support peer engineers with advanced diagnostics, and handle escalations independently.
