Technical Expert – LNG Ship-to-Ship Transfer Equipment (Inspection & Testing Authority)

Location: On-site at international ports (as per project requirement)

About The Role

Our company is seeking a highly experienced Technical Authority (TA) or a qualified technical expert/team to provide inspection, supervision, and consultation services for an LNG Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfer equipment package.

The role will focus on Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), ensuring full compliance, operational safety, and technical integrity of LNG transfer systems used in marine STS operations.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working with Trelleborg Marine and Infrastructure or similar marine/offshore equipment manufacturers.

Scope of Work

· Composite LNG Transfer Hoses: 10” LNG White specification, 20-meter length, both ends flanged (10” ANSI 150)

· Powered Emergency Release Coupling (PERC) Assembly: 10” flanged ends, ANSI 150 rating

· Pneumatic Actuation System (HPN2): Designed for simultaneous release of up to 8 PERC units with integrated control and monitoring functions

· Pneumatic Vessel Separation Device (VSD): Hardwired interface capable of generating ESD Level 1 and ESD Level 2 signals

· Ancillary Equipment: Including securing hardware, adapters, flange blinds, hose bands, and related accessories

All systems have undergone cryogenic testing in compliance with applicable LNG standards and are supported with full technical documentation, including material certificates, test reports, and compliance records.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct and supervise FAT and SAT activities for LNG STS transfer equipment

· Verify compliance with applicable marine, LNG, and safety standards

· Review technical documentation, test reports, and certification packages

· Provide independent technical assessment and approval recommendations

· Ensure correct installation, functionality, and operational readiness of all systems

· Identify and report non-conformities with corrective action recommendations

· Act as Technical Authority liaison between client, manufacturer, and testing teams

· Support commissioning and final system validation at site

Required Qualifications & Experience

· Proven experience in LNG marine systems, offshore equipment, or cryogenic transfer systems

· Strong background in ship-to-ship transfer systems or marine loading/unloading systems

· Experience in FAT/SAT inspection, commissioning, or technical authority roles

· Familiarity with hydraulic/pneumatic control systems and ESD safety systems

· Experience with manufacturers such as Trelleborg Marine & Infrastructure (preferred)

· Strong knowledge of international marine safety and LNG handling standards

Preferred Skills

· Technical Authority or Lead Engineer experience in offshore/marine projects

· Strong understanding of emergency release systems (PERC or equivalent)

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and compliance documents

· Strong reporting and documentation skills

· Willingness to travel and work on-site at international ports

Additional Information

  • This is a high-responsibility technical role requiring independent judgment.
  • Work will be performed on-site during FAT and SAT phases.
  • Candidates may work individually or as part of a specialized inspection team.
  • Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Doha: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
