Role Overview

The employer is seeking a caring, patient, responsible, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant.

The role supports teachers and students with academic development, classroom activities, student wellbeing, and daily school operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily classroom activities, lesson preparation, and learning programs.
  • Assist students individually and in small groups with assignments and learning tasks.
  • Prepare teaching materials, worksheets, displays, classroom resources, and equipment.
  • Support students with academic, behavioral, or learning needs.
  • Supervise students during lessons, breaks, lunch, extracurricular activities, and school events.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
  • Support attendance, classroom routines, transitions, and daily administrative activities.
  • Observe student progress and provide teachers with feedback about development and challenges.
  • Assist with marking assignments, maintaining records, and organizing classroom resources.
  • Support positive behavior and students' social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Assist with educational events, field trips, extracurricular activities, and school programs.
  • Communicate professionally, maintain confidentiality, attend training, and follow safeguarding and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant, Teacher Aide, Classroom Assistant, Tutor, Childcare Assistant, or similar experience is preferred.
  • Candidates should have strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, observation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates should be able to support children of different ages, abilities, backgrounds, and learning needs.
  • Good English communication skills are required; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Basic computer literacy and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace familiarity are preferred.
  • A high school diploma, SPM, STPM, A-Level, or equivalent qualification is required.
  • A diploma or bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Teaching, or a related field is preferred.
