Operation Director

Role Purpose

Strategic and Operational Leadership

• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for organizational operations.
• Translate company strategy and business objectives into operational plans, measurable targets, KPIs, service levels, and accountability frameworks.
• Oversee day-to-day business operations and ensure efficient execution across departments and business units.
• Maintain strong governance, accountability, and operational discipline throughout the organization.

Performance and Improvement

• Monitor operational performance and improve productivity, efficiency, quality, service levels, and profitability.
• Lead continuous improvement, operational excellence, business transformation, expansion, restructuring, automation, and process-improvement projects.
• Develop standardized processes, policies, procedures, operating models, dashboards, management reports, and performance reviews.
• Identify bottlenecks, risks, inefficiencies, and process gaps, then implement corrective actions.

Financial and Resource Management

• Manage operational budgets, resources, expenses, forecasts, and cost-control initiatives.
• Drive cost efficiency while maintaining service quality, customer satisfaction, and business performance.
• Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation, organizational structure, and manpower requirements.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop high-performing operational teams and department heads.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Marketing, HR, Technology, Procurement, and other functional teams.
• Manage relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors, partners, and other external stakeholders where required.
• Establish and monitor vendor and service-provider performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in operations management, business operations, general management, commercial operations, or a related leadership role.
• Extensive experience managing large-scale or multifunctional operations.
• Strong business strategy, operational planning, financial management, performance optimization, and commercial acumen.
• Experience managing KPIs, SLAs, budgets, dashboards, forecasting, and performance-management frameworks.
• Experience leading business transformation, process improvement, digitalization, automation, or operational excellence initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance, governance, and business continuity.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems, CRM platforms, BI dashboards, and operational reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or other continuous-improvement methodologies is an advantage.
• Industry experience in manufacturing, construction, logistics, healthcare, technology, retail, hospitality, or professional services is advantageous.
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, finance, management, supply chain, or a related discipline is preferred.
• An MBA or other postgraduate business qualification is an advantage.
• Professional certifications in operations management, project management, Lean Six Sigma, supply chain, or business management are an advantage.
• Typically, 10 or more years of relevant professional experience with significant leadership responsibility is preferred for senior Operations Director positions.
