Role overview
Gannett Fleming is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer for its transportation practice in Ontario, Alberta, or British Columbia.
The role supports system safety, safety assurance, and safety certification activities for commuter, light rail, metro, and heavy rail transit projects.
Work spans concept, design, construction, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance phases.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain hazard logs and support SHA, PHA, OSHA, IHA, and related safety studies.
- Assist with safety cases, safety assurance reports, safety requirements, and safety plans.
- Support verification and validation of safety requirements and review contractor safety deliverables.
- Participate in design reviews, risk workshops, hazard reviews, audits, and assessments.
- Coordinate assurance activities with RAM, Systems Engineering, and Integration teams.
- Assist with proposal development and technical pursuits.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related STEM discipline.
- Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
