Role overview
GFT is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for its Practice or CBG Team.
The part-time role works 24 hours per week on transportation infrastructure projects in a hybrid model with regular attendance at the Toronto or Mississauga office.
Core responsibilities
- Perform inspection, condition assessment, rehabilitation, and structural design for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and transportation-related facilities.
- Perform steel and concrete design for slabs, footings, columns, beams, and other structural members.
- Prepare structural design calculations and develop drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Coordinate structural design with project requirements and lead design for small-scale projects.
- Develop structural details, review structural shop drawings, and collaborate with multiple disciplines.
- Attend seminars to remain current on the industry and perform other duties assigned by discipline lead engineers or project managers.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
- A P.Eng license and at least 10 years of relevant full-time work experience are required.
- Hands-on experience with structural analysis and design software is required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software is required.
