Role overview

Cloud financial management

• Manage cloud cost and usage tooling, pricing mechanics, consumption drivers, contractual constructs, and commitment programs.
• Model unit economics and forecast demand for SaaS, AI, messaging, communication, virtual desktop, and end-user computing services.
• Apply cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, anomaly detection, optimization governance, and cost lifecycle management.
• Develop chargeback and showback frameworks for enterprise and banking models.

Architecture and governance

• Evaluate cloud infrastructure and platform services across compute, storage, networking, databases, and PaaS for cost, performance, resilience, and regulatory considerations.
• Advise on cost-efficient and compliant architecture patterns.
• Consider security, risk, governance, compliance, observability, resilience, and financial efficiency trade-offs.

Data and stakeholder management

• Design and validate cloud cost data pipelines and normalize multi-cloud billing data for dashboards, reporting, and investment governance.
• Translate technical cloud cost and design decisions into clear financial narratives for engineering, finance, procurement, risk, and executive stakeholders.
• Drive cost accountability and value-based decision-making across the organization.

Experience and education

• At least 7 years of total professional experience, including at least 5 years in cloud financial management, FinOps, cloud cost optimization, cloud operations, or financial governance.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in large, regulated enterprises or banking environments is preferred.

Certifications

• FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) and FOCUS Analyst certification are mandatory.
• FinOps for AI certification is preferred.
• Cloud Solutions Architect certification from AWS, Azure, or an equivalent provider is desirable.

Technical and financial skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail across multi-cloud cost and usage datasets.
• Strong financial acumen in budgeting, purchase orders, cost allocation, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial guardrails.
• Advanced cost modeling, unit cost analysis, marginal cost evaluation, cost-to-serve modeling, and cloud billing data normalization skills.
• Experience with software development, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
