- Serve as the primary BV point of contact for CER sustainability clients in country
- Represent Bureau Veritas at local sustainability events, ESG forums, carbon market conferences and industry roundtables
- Maintain accurate Salesforce records for all in country CER opportunities
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience in sustainability consulting, ESG advisory, GHG verification or CER related services in Egypt, Qatar or the broader MENA region
- Solid technical command of GHG accounting and verification: ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, Scope 1/2/3 inventories
- Knowledge of carbon footprint methodologies and net zero/decarbonisation advisory
- Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks: GRI, ISSB/IFRS S2, ESRS, CDP, TCFD
- Knowledge of sustainability assurance standards: ISAE 3000, ISSA 5000
- Excellent written English
- Client facing experience
- Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, business or related field

- The CER (Certification) product line covers GHG verification, carbon accounting, ESG assurance, sustainability advisory, social audits and supply chain due diligence.
Role Overview
- The Sustainability Specialist is a country based technical and commercial delivery role focused on Bureau Veritas' Certification (CER) sustainability service line.
- Two positions are open: one in Egypt (Cairo) and one in Qatar (Doha).
- The Specialist will be the primary CER sustainability presence in country: delivering client advisory mandates, leading proposal development, building the local CER pipeline and supporting BV's brand.
Key Responsibilities Technical Delivery & Advisory
- Lead and deliver sustainability advisory mandates in country across core CER focus areas.
- Conduct GHG verification audits and CER certification assessments.
- Prepare high quality technical deliverables: verification reports, advisory frameworks, gap analyses, decarbonisation plans and client presentations.
- Coordinate with the MCA regional team and Egypt Technical Hub for peer review, QA/QC and technical sign off.
- Stay current with regulatory developments relevant to in country clients.
Key Responsibilities Business Development & Proposals
- Lead or co lead the preparation of CER sustainability proposals, RFP responses and commercial offers.
- Identify and qualify new CER business opportunities in country.
- Support regional BD campaigns including CBAM advisory, sustainability assurance, IFRS S2 readiness and GHG verification drives.
- Prepare and deliver tailored client presentations, pitches and capability documents.
- Participate in bid/no bid decisions and maintain accurate pipeline records in Salesforce.
Key Responsibilities Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary BV point of contact for CER sustainability clients in country.
- Liaise with local regulatory bodies, stock exchanges, accreditation authorities and relevant government entities.
- Represent Bureau Veritas at local sustainability events, ESG forums, carbon market conferences and industry roundtables.
- Manage repeat business opportunities, client satisfaction and contract renewals.
Key Responsibilities Operational & Reporting
- Maintain accurate Salesforce records for all in country CER opportunities.
- Prepare monthly country performance reports and pipeline inputs.
- Ensure all CER mandates comply with BV quality standards and accreditation obligations.
- Contribute country specific content to the MCA proposal library.
- Participate in monthly MCA thematic training sessions and contribute to the quarterly regional sustainability newsletter.
Requirements Essential
- 4–6 years of experience in sustainability consulting, ESG advisory, GHG verification or CER related services in Egypt, Qatar or the broader MENA region.
- Solid technical command of GHG accounting and verification: ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, Scope 1/2/3 inventories.
- Knowledge of carbon footprint methodologies and net zero/decarbonisation advisory.
- Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks: GRI, ISSB/IFRS S2, ESRS, CDP, TCFD.
- Knowledge of sustainability assurance standards: ISAE 3000, ISSA 5000.
- Knowledge of CBAM and cross border carbon due diligence.
- Knowledge of supply chain ESG mapping and third party risk.
- Excellent written English.
- Client facing experience.
- Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, business or a related field.
Requirements Preferred
- Professional certification: GHG Verifier, ISO 14064 Lead Auditor, GRI Certified Practitioner, CDP accredited advisor, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of local market regulatory context for Egypt or Qatar.
- Arabic language proficiency.
- Experience with Salesforce or equivalent CRM tools.
- Familiarity with EcoVadis, MSCI ESG, S&P Global, or other ESG ratings platforms.
- Knowledge of social auditing principles (SMETA, SA8000).
