Role Overview

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other sushi dishes following recipes and standards.
  • Use fresh and high quality ingredients to ensure best flavor and presentation.
  • Safely handle and store raw fish and other ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Utilize expert sushi rolling techniques to create visually appealing and well constructed sushi rolls.
  • Demonstrate efficient and skilled fish cutting techniques to maintain productivity.
  • Conduct quality checks on all sushi dishes to ensure they meet standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Optimize fish yield and portioning to minimize waste.
  • Follow proper handwashing, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
  • Work closely with kitchen team to coordinate sushi preparation and ensure timely service.
  • Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and servers.
  • Stay updated with menu and changes to sushi offerings.
  • Showcase creativity in designing new sushi rolls or flavor combinations.

Qualifications

  • Sushi Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in sushi rolling techniques and familiarity with various sushi dishes.
  • Culinary Experience: Previous experience as a Sushi Roller or in a sushi focused kitchen preferred.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food safety practices and proper handling of raw fish.
