Role Overview

  • The Cashier provides excellent customer service, accurately processes transactions, and coordinates order flow in the restaurant.
  • Handles cash transactions, manages customer inquiries, and communicates with kitchen and service staff.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and address inquiries or concerns.
  • Accurately process customer orders and enter them into POS system.
  • Accept payments via cash, credit cards, or digital methods and provide change.
  • Maintain clean and organized cash register area.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of transactions and daily cash balances.
  • Utilize aggregator system to check performance and connectivity of tablets.
  • Monitor and manage online orders through aggregator platform.
  • Apply discounts and promotional offers accurately using aggregator system.
  • Check availability of items via digital inventory and update in real time.
  • Communicate customer orders to kitchen staff ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Manage phone calls and provide menu information.
  • Upsell and promote additional items or special offers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service, preferably in restaurant/hospitality.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using POS systems and basic computer operations.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage industry practices, including hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Basic knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and allergen information desirable.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry trays or supplies.
