The role
As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be acting as a key interface between Norton’s suppliers and manufacturing operation, ensuring supplier quality issues are managed effectively, supplier performance is monitored, and corrective actions are progressed to minimise disruption to production.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on supplier quality support, working closely with Production Quality Engineers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day supplier quality issues and non-conformances.
- Support containment activities relating to supplier quality issues.
- Coordinate supplier corrective actions, including 8D investigations.
- Track supplier corrective actions through to effective closure.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and key quality KPIs.
- Support supplier development and improvement activities.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers to ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
- Work closely with Production Quality Engineers (PQEs) to resolve supplier-related quality issues.
- Escalate significant or recurring supplier quality concerns where appropriate.
- Support concession and deviation reviews.
- Assist with the resolution of production issues involving purchased components and materials.
- Provide timely quality support to manufacturing to minimise disruption to production.
- Monitor supplier PPM, defect trends and overall supplier quality performance.
- Produce supplier quality reports and performance updates.
- Support supplier performance reviews.
- Identify and follow up overdue supplier corrective actions.
- Highlight recurring or significant supplier performance issues to relevant stakeholders.
