Position Summary
Direct and assist stewards to make kitchen and service-area cleanup more efficient.
Support culinary, banquet, and buffet operations while maintaining cleaning, safety, and quality standards.
Stewarding and Culinary Duties
- Monitor and document appropriate water temperatures and chemical levels.
- Assist with banquet plate-ups and provide needed items to cooks and kitchen staff.
- Transport and maintain adequate stock for banquet and buffet operations.
- Return cleaned items to their proper locations.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, hand-wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
People and Compliance Duties
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
- Follow company safety and security policies and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
- Complete safety training and certifications and maintain confidentiality and company asset protection.
- Maintain professional appearance, clear communication, positive working relationships, and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- At least 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- No license or certification is required.
Physical Requirements
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and reach overhead and below the knees.
- Bend, twist, pull, stoop, and move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
