Job Summary

Support day-to-day execution of general ledger processes and help clients understand those processes.

Perform account balancing, ledger reconciliation, reporting, and discrepancy resolution.

Education and Experience

  • A four-year bachelor's degree in finance and accounting or a related major is accepted with no work experience required.
  • Alternatively, a two-year degree in finance and accounting or a related major plus two years of relevant professional experience is accepted.

Managing Work and Policies

  • Coordinate and implement assigned accounting work and projects.
  • Coordinate, implement, and follow up on accounting SOP audits across all property areas.
  • Comply with applicable laws covering fraud and collection procedures.
  • Generate accurate and timely reports and presentations.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to select solutions and resolve problems.
  • Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and verify information or data.
  • Balance credit card ledgers and verify group contracts and credit references when needed.

Finance and Accounting Goals

  • Achieve performance, budget, and team goals.
  • Develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and complete work.
  • Submit reports on time and ensure profits and losses are documented accurately.
  • Monitor applicable taxes and maintain a strong accounting and operational control environment.
  • Complete period-end functions and advise other units on accounting and budgeting policies.

Accounting Knowledge

  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant accounting issues, products, systems, processes, return checks, revenue reports, write-offs, and consolidated deposits.
  • Use computer systems and financial spreadsheets to enter, process, and analyze information.
  • Apply judgment to determine compliance with laws, regulations, and standards.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, influence, motivate, and encourage accounting employees while promoting sound financial decisions and integrity.
  • Delegate tasks, impose deadlines, maintain visibility, and manage service and employee satisfaction.
  • Support employee mentoring and training, provide coaching and counseling, and train staff on accounts receivable posting techniques.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Communicate relevant information to supervisors, peers, subordinates, and executives by telephone, writing, email, or in person.
  • Use listening, organizational, time-management, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Manage interpersonal conflict effectively and make collections calls when necessary.
