Role Overview
The role supervises daily maintenance operations, equipment breakdowns, operational priorities, and multicultural technical teams.
The jobholder supports continuous Engineering department functioning across specialist systems, facilities, general maintenance, and fire safety.
Key Result Areas
- Assign and carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for efficient resource use.
- Ensure safe working practices, employee and asset safety, and compliance with safety legislation.
- Ensure ISO 9001:2001 quality-system and company-policy compliance.
- Respond to breakdowns, prioritize maintenance requests, escalate issues, and arrange corrective actions.
- Supervise maintenance tasks and junior engineering and technical staff.
- Carry out timely, cost-effective repairs within department guidelines and budget constraints.
- Prepare urgent-item contingency plans with local suppliers and monitor stock shortages.
- Maintain continuity through briefings and report equipment issues and breakdowns to line managers.
- Propose work-procedure improvements and maintain effective communication with colleagues.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A recognized diploma in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering is required.
