Position Summary
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and pool areas after cleaning to ensure quality standards.
Support daily housekeeping activities and coordinate Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
Manage room status, discrepant rooms, room assignments, shift communication, and required paperwork.
Room and Shift Operations
- Run sold-room reports, verify room status, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update departing-room status.
- Document and resolve discrepant-room issues with the Front Desk.
- Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments and communicate issues to the next shift.
People Management
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries and complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality of proprietary information, and protection of company assets.
Guest Service
- Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Speak clearly and professionally and respond appropriately to concerns from employees and guests.
Physical and Technical Requirements
- Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance and heavier objects with assistance.
- Push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
- Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods across an entire work shift.
- Use computers or point-of-sale systems and read and visually verify information in varied formats.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- No license or certification is required.
