Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Marketing, Communications, and Engagement Specialist to manage the school’s social media channels.
- Actively engage with the online community to foster interaction, respond to inquiries, and promote the school’s initiatives and events across social media platforms.
- Monitor conversations and mentions through social listening; flag opportunities and challenges for the team.
- Maintain a consistent, on-brand community voice and response approach across channels.
- Maintaining and ensuring consistency in the school’s brand identity, including brand guidelines, messaging, and visual assets in the various social media channels.
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Communications, and Engagement Specialist to maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting.
- Regularly meet with the marketing and communications team to develop compelling narratives highlighting the school’s unique value proposition, achievements, and impact.
- Work closely with faculty, staff, and students to gather content ideas and ensure accurate information is shared.
- Assist in editing and distributing the college’s email newsletters.
- Support the team with various administrative duties as needed.
- Attend Chapman University and Fowler School of Engineering events on behalf of the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at Chapman University, majoring in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- A strong understanding of the digital landscape, social media platforms, and digital tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent project management skills to consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
